Illustrative technology environment for Voice & Communications

Solutions / Voice & Communications

Communication built around the business.

Calls move between customers, departments, properties and people on the move. We design business voice systems around those everyday journeys.

01 / IN PRACTICE

The right call, in the right place.

Department structure, working hours and remote working inform call routing. The underlying network needs to support the same operational priorities.

02 / IN PRACTICE

Communication throughout the property.

Front desk, rooms and operational teams need a coherent communications environment. Voice connects to the wider property network and its support processes.

03 / IN PRACTICE

Design the caller's journey.

Map what happens during opening hours, busy periods and closures. Decide which team receives each type of enquiry, what happens when nobody answers and how staff identify transferred calls. Test those paths from an external number, including mobile and remote staff, before changing the way customers reach the business.

04 / IN PRACTICE

Treat migration as an operational event.

Number transfer, provider coordination and handset preparation need a shared schedule. Review network and power dependencies and agree temporary contact arrangements for the cutover. Staff should have concise instructions for everyday functions such as transfers, voicemail and changing availability.

Your questions, answered

Voice & Communications
FAQ.

Practical details to help you plan your next step.

Can we keep our existing business number?

Number retention depends on the current service, provider arrangements and eligibility for transfer. Those details and the transfer schedule must be confirmed before committing to a migration.

Can staff answer calls away from the office?

Suitable platforms can support mobile or desktop calling. The design considers connectivity, device security, user permissions and how remote availability affects department routing.

What happens if the internet connection fails?

Behavior depends on the platform and provider. Backup connectivity or provider-side diversion may form part of the plan, but both need configuration and testing. Local equipment also depends on power.

Can multiple locations share a phone system?

A shared platform may support extensions and routing across locations. Numbering, local opening hours, connectivity and administration should be mapped before selecting the implementation.
