Can cameras share the business network?
IP cameras can use managed infrastructure with suitable capacity and access separation. Recording traffic, switch power and remote viewing requirements should be assessed before adding devices.
How much recording storage do we need?
Capacity depends on camera settings, recording schedules, scene activity and the retention period approved for the site. The design should estimate storage from those inputs and verify it after installation.
Can existing cameras be reused?
Compatibility, condition, supported protocols and ongoing security updates determine whether reuse is appropriate. Existing devices should be assessed individually rather than assumed compatible.
Who should be able to view recordings?
Viewing and export permissions should follow a documented operational purpose and the organization's privacy requirements. Named accounts and a clear authorization process help avoid unrestricted access.
