Make the counter part of the business.
Sales, stock and reporting need a consistent information flow. Connected software supports the team at the counter and the people managing the wider operation.
Protect the systems behind commerce.
Payment connectivity, access to business information and recovery planning need to be considered together with the commercial application.
Connect stock decisions to the counter.
Map deliveries, sales, returns and stock adjustments before connecting applications. Agree which system owns product codes and pricing, and who can change them. Clear ownership avoids competing records and helps the team understand which information can be trusted when stock differs from expectations.
Make each branch supportable.
For multiple locations, document connectivity, local peripherals and the behavior of applications during a connection interruption. Standardize what can be standardized while keeping branch-specific requirements visible. Test end-of-day reconciliation and access permissions with the people who will manage them.

FAQ.
Practical details to help you plan your next step.
Can several stores share inventory information?
This depends on the commercial software and its synchronization model. Branch identifiers, product records, update timing and behavior during disconnection need to be defined.
Can we retain scanners and receipt printers?
Existing peripherals can be reviewed against the selected software and operating system. Supported interfaces and device condition determine whether reuse is sensible.
Can payments and sales reporting be connected?
Integration depends on the POS, payment provider and supported interfaces. The project should establish the required flow and test successful, cancelled and interrupted transactions.
How is an upgrade planned around trading?
Prepare product data, device configuration and staff training before an agreed cutover. Define reconciliation checks and fallback arrangements so opening the store does not depend on unresolved setup tasks.
